DENIZ AKGUNER
DIRECTOR
Certified EUREX and LIFFE derivatives trader, Deniz started his career in Royal Dutch Shell, where he was first exposed to physical trading and energy commodities. Relocating to Amsterdam to become one of the most profitable options market makers at Tibra Capital, he was subsequently recruited to Zurich as head of trading at the Swiss hedge fund Da Vinci Invest AG.

Having finetuned his signature derivatives strategies there, he then entered the blooming Middle Eastern space to launch his own hedge fund in the free zone circa 2015. He is also one of the founding partners of the Cayman Islands based proprietary trading firm GKAM, and was involved with other entrepreneurial ventures like Kaos Capital. Deniz holds a BA / BS in International Politics & Philosophy from Bosphorus University and has further done Master’s studies in International Finance at Columbia University, New York.
